
Mumbai, April 14: A tragic incident unfolded in Mumbai, the financial capital of India, during a music event on April 11, where two students lost their lives due to a drug overdose. Police investigations revealed that the students consumed excessive drugs, leading to their untimely deaths.
According to Mumbai police, one of the deceased took drug pills in a cab before the event and ingested another tablet during the concert, resulting in an overdose. Medical professionals have confirmed the overdose. The police have arrested six individuals in connection with the drug case. Approximately 15-16 students from a prestigious college in Mumbai attended the event.
The investigation also indicated that the two deceased students had used drugs, leading to the arrest of two others involved. Additionally, the supplier from whom the tablets were obtained has also been apprehended, with 6-7 tablets recovered from the suspect.
Further inquiries revealed that the drugs were brought in from outside Mumbai. The entry fee for the event was around ₹2000. Three individuals associated with the event, including a vice president from Nesco, have also been arrested. Authorities are now probing the entire network to uncover the extent of the drug supply connections.
According to police reports, a 24-year-old female student from a renowned MBA college and a 28-year-old male student died, while a 25-year-old female student remains in critical condition in the ICU.
On April 11, many students participated in the concert held at Nesco Grounds in Goregaon. Some attendees reportedly consumed drugs during the event. Forensic reports are expected to provide further clarity on the situation. Late Monday night, around midnight, students were admitted to a nearby trauma center due to breathing difficulties, where two tragically passed away.
