
New Delhi, April 20: A wave of crime has shocked the capital city of New Delhi. On Sunday, two separate knife attacks resulted in the death of an elderly man and a woman, while her husband sustained serious injuries. The police are currently investigating both incidents.
The first incident occurred in the Mandir Marg police jurisdiction around 5:36 PM, when a PCR call reported a stabbing near a blind school. It was reported that a man had been stabbed inside his own home.
Upon arrival, police found 63-year-old Madan Ram injured in a room on the first floor. He was immediately rushed to Lady Hardinge Medical College, where doctors declared him dead.
According to police, the deceased was a retired MTS employee from the Reserve Bank of India. He leaves behind a wife, two daughters, and a son.
The crime team examined the scene and sent the body for post-mortem. A case has been registered, and special teams have been formed to apprehend the suspects.
In the second incident, which took place in the Azadpur Mandi area of the Adarsh Nagar police jurisdiction in northwest Delhi, unknown assailants attacked a woman and her husband with knives.
The woman died at the scene, while her husband is hospitalized with serious injuries.
Sources indicate that the attackers numbered between two to three, but the motive for the attack remains unclear. Police have begun their investigation and are reviewing nearby CCTV footage.
Both incidents have created a sensation in the area, and police are actively pursuing their investigations.
