
Mumbai, June 15: The news of TV actress Sanchita Ugle’s death has sent shockwaves through the entertainment industry. The 22-year-old reportedly took her own life on the evening of June 14 at her residence in the Sai Santoshi building in Aachole village, Nalasopara East. She was found hanging from a ceiling fan using a saree, with the bedroom door locked from the inside.
Upon receiving the news, family members and neighbors rushed her to Vasai-Virar Municipal Hospital, where she was declared dead by doctors. ASI Vinod Bagh from Aachole police station reported that Sanchita took this drastic step between 7:00 PM and 7:30 PM. The police team arrived at the scene, prepared a report, and subsequently sent the body for post-mortem.
The police have initiated a serious investigation into the matter. Based on a complaint from the deceased’s father, Machinda Ugle, an Accidental Death Report (ADR) has been filed under Section 194 of the Indian Penal Code at Aachole police station on June 15. Authorities have stated that the exact reason behind the suicide is still unknown, and investigations are ongoing from all possible angles. Detailed information will be available once the investigation is complete.
Sanchita Ugle was gradually making her mark in the TV industry. She gained significant recognition for her role as Disha Tandon in the popular Zee TV serial ‘Kumkum Bhagya.’ Working on this show was a turning point in her career. In an interview, Sanchita mentioned that the show not only brought her fame but also garnered full support from her family.
In addition to ‘Kumkum Bhagya,’ Sanchita played the character Ruchita Jetly in ‘Wagle Ki Duniya.’ Later, she appeared in a lead role as Sukoon in the TV show ‘Dilwali Dulha Le Jayenge.’
Sanchita also worked in films and OTT projects. She portrayed a younger version of Tara Rani in Vicky Kaushal’s film ‘Chhawa.’ Additionally, she had a significant role in Manoj Bajpayee’s film ‘Silence 2: The Night Owl Bar Shootout.’
