Haryana Singer Masoom Sharma Criticizes Gun Culture, Advocates for Local Arts
Masoom Sharma speaks out against gun culture in India, urging support for Haryanas language and culture during a recent press conference.

Hansi, October 25 (Daily Kiran) : Haryana’s renowned singer Masoom Sharma recently expressed his strong opposition to gun culture during a press conference in Hansi. Speaking to reporters, he emphasized that this issue extends beyond Haryana, asserting that gun culture should not be glorified anywhere in India.
Sharma argued that promoting weapons through songs and films negatively impacts society, especially the youth. He believes that artists have a crucial role in contributing to their homeland through their work. “Every artist should contribute to their field in their own way,” he stated. “Writers express themselves through their words, singers through their voices, and painters through their art. Each one is working to advance their industry while preserving their cultural heritage.”
He urged support for local artists and Haryana’s film industry to ensure that the regional language and culture gain national recognition. According to Sharma, fostering local talent is essential for the preservation of Haryana’s language and culture.
Addressing concerns about recent threats faced by artists and businesspeople, Sharma noted that this has become a troubling trend. “Artists are often targeted because they are seen as softer targets,” he commented, highlighting the need for greater protection for creative individuals.
As for his upcoming projects, Sharma revealed that he is currently working on a new film, which is set to be released soon. He mentioned that he was in Hansi to visit family while focusing on this project.
