Yogi Adityanath Celebrates Valmiki Jayanti, Emphasizes Social Harmony and Equality

On Valmiki Jayanti, Yogi Adityanath highlights the importance of Valmikis teachings for fostering social harmony and equality in society.

Lucknow, October 26 (Daily Kiran) : Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath extended his greetings to the people of the state on the occasion of Valmiki Jayanti. He emphasized that the teachings of Maharishi Valmiki, conveyed through the Ramayana, continue to guide humanity with messages of truth, righteousness, and duty.

Adityanath stated that embracing Valmiki’s ideals is essential for strengthening feelings of unity, equality, and brotherhood in society. He stressed that even those at the lowest rung of society deserve respect, security, and equal opportunities. The Chief Minister described Valmiki as a great guide and source of inspiration not only for Indian culture but for all humanity. He noted that the compassion arising from the killing of the Kraunch bird led to the first verse of the Ramayana, paving the way for its creation. Valmiki envisioned an ideal society where love, justice, harmony, and brotherhood prevail.

He recalled the friendship between Lord Ram and Nishadraj Guha, as mentioned in the Valmiki Ramayana. This story illustrates that true connection, respect, and equality transcend social identities. The concept of Ram Rajya is based on the respect, security, and welfare of every individual. Adityanath mentioned that the Uttar Pradesh government is working to uplift all sections of society in line with Valmiki’s principles. Significant steps have been taken to promote Valmiki’s thoughts and develop sacred sites associated with him, including initiatives to enhance the pilgrimage site in Chitrakoot, allowing devotees and the youth to draw inspiration from his life and teachings. Similar efforts are underway for the tourism development and preservation of the Valmiki Ashram in Bithoor.

He also highlighted the renaming of Ayodhya’s international airport after Maharishi Valmiki as a way to honor his legacy on a national and international level. Declaring a public holiday for Valmiki Jayanti serves as a mark of respect. The government is continuously striving for the socio-economic upliftment of marginalized and backward communities.

Adityanath pointed out that the true aim of Valmiki’s teachings will only be realized when even the most disadvantaged individuals receive respect, security, and equal opportunities. He noted that the government has initiated various schemes to honor and ensure the welfare of sanitation workers. Additionally, villages of the Van Tangiya community have been granted revenue village status, and benefits from housing, education, health, and welfare schemes are reaching communities such as Musahar, Kol, Tharu, and nomadic groups. Moreover, land rights are being granted to eligible families from marginalized communities, providing them a foundation for a dignified life.

In his appeal to the youth, the Chief Minister encouraged them to embody the ideals of Lord Ram and to reject any form of discrimination. He asserted that only when the barriers of caste and class are broken will the dream of a harmonious society be realized.
