Maharashtras Satara Sees Major Savings with PM Solar Home Scheme

Satara, October 26 (Daily Kiran) : The PM Solar Home Scheme, launched by the central government, is making a significant impact across the country, helping countless families reduce their electricity expenses. A notable success story comes from Karad, a city in Maharashtra’s Satara district, where one family’s electricity bill has been cut by more than half thanks to solar panels.

Shobha Shashikant Desai, a teacher, and her husband Shashikant Anand Rao Desai, who works in the forest department, reside in the Revenue Colony of Karad. Before installing solar panels, their monthly electricity bill ranged from ₹800 to ₹900, placing a strain on their budget.

After learning about the PM Solar Home Scheme and its subsidies, the Desai couple decided to install solar panels on their rooftop. Since then, they have seen a remarkable reduction in their electricity costs.

Their monthly savings now amount to approximately ₹500 to ₹600. The reduction in their bill has eased their financial burden, allowing for better management of household expenses.

Shobha Desai expressed gratitude for the scheme, noting its positive impact on their family’s finances. She emphasized the importance of such initiatives, started by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, for ordinary families. She hopes that similar programs will continue to be available in the future.

Shashikant Desai also shared his satisfaction, stating that the installation of solar panels has led to a noticeable decrease in their electricity expenses, contributing to savings in their overall household budget.
