TMCs Court Actions Reflect Old Habits, Says BJP Spokesperson Sudhanshu Trivedi

New Delhi, May 2: BJP national spokesperson and Rajya Sabha member Sudhanshu Trivedi launched a sharp attack on the Trinamool Congress (TMC) during a media briefing regarding the West Bengal assembly elections. He stated that as the elections progressed, the TMC’s public support and morale steadily declined.

Trivedi remarked, “As soon as peaceful and violence-free voting concluded, anxiety and panic increased within the TMC. When the exit poll trends emerged, it seemed their balance was completely disrupted.”

He criticized the TMC’s decision to approach the Supreme Court, claiming that resorting to baseless and unfounded allegations is a testament to their old habits and frustration.

The BJP spokesperson asserted that over the past 10-12 years, the TMC has approached various courts more than 80 times, only to face disappointment each time. He noted that the Supreme Court recently dismissed the TMC’s petition seeking intervention in the electoral process, as well as a petition filed by Kapil Sibal.

Trivedi further alleged that during a raid on the I-PAC office, it was unprecedented for Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee to arrive at the scene. This indicates a lack of trust in her own staff and close associates. He raised concerns about the law and order situation in West Bengal, stating that the conditions are extremely poor, with attacks on government offices occurring.

During the briefing, he also targeted the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and its leadership. He questioned Arvind Kejriwal regarding serious allegations against Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, suggesting that he was under the influence during a legislative session.

Trivedi quipped, “It’s a facade of paper, in a city of lamps. Walk carefully, because you are intoxicated.”
