TMC Poised for Victory in West Bengal Elections, Says Jharkhand CM Hemant Soren

Kolkata, April 27: Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren has responded to claims by BJP leaders regarding their anticipated seat victories following the first phase of voting in the West Bengal Assembly elections.

Addressing an election rally, Soren stated that his party has campaigned extensively in various areas during the first phase. He indicated that the early signs suggest that the Trinamool Congress (TMC) is on the path to victory. “We are not those who make political predictions; we are people who work at the grassroots level,” he asserted.

He noted that BJP leaders have already begun distributing sweets, despite the results still being pending. “Do not worry; the results are yet to come,” he added.

In a light-hearted manner, Soren joked that those indulging in BJP’s sweets might end up with stomach issues. He criticized the party for its dishonesty, stating, “They say one thing and do another. In their governments in other states, inflation and unemployment are at an all-time high. Young people are struggling to find jobs.”

During a media interaction, Soren emphasized that the BJP only participates in elections without delivering on their promises. “They make grand claims, but they are never fulfilled,” he remarked.

Soren mentioned that all political parties are presenting their views to the public in this electoral arena, and it is now up to the voters to decide whom to support.

Meanwhile, Tejashwi Yadav, the Leader of the Opposition in the Bihar Assembly and a supporter of Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, campaigned for TMC. He claimed that a majority government led by Banerjee is emerging in West Bengal.

Tejashwi took a jab at the BJP, stating that they can only dream, while the public’s sentiments lie with Mamata Banerjee.

It is noteworthy that voting for 152 seats took place in the first phase, with the second phase scheduled for April 29, covering 142 seats. The results will be announced on May 4.
