Three Notorious Gangsters Extradited from Malaysia to India: Home Ministry Reports

New Delhi, August 24: Indian authorities have successfully extradited three wanted gangsters from Malaysia. They have been brought back to India and are now in police custody. The accused are reportedly linked to the infamous Bambiha Gang and face multiple serious criminal charges.

The Home Ministry stated that under Prime Minister Modi’s vision of a ‘Safe India,’ Indian agencies are actively working to repatriate notorious criminals hiding abroad.

In a post on the social media platform X, the Home Ministry announced that Indian agencies apprehended the three fugitives in Malaysia, returned them to India, and handed them over to police custody. The gangsters—Jaspreet Singh, Ajay Singh, and Pawandeep Singh—are associated with the Bambiha Gang and are accused of various crimes, including extortion, cross-border arms and drug trafficking, and a failed grenade attack in Ludhiana. Since the beginning of 2026, our agencies have assisted in the return of 51 notorious criminals.

On August 19, the Punjab DGP emphasized that the Punjab Police is committed to dismantling international organized crime networks. “No matter where the fugitives hide, we will track them down and bring them to justice,” he stated. The accused have been identified as Jaspreet Singh, also known as Bahbal, from Faridkot, and Ajay Singh and Pawandeep Singh, both from Ganganagar in Rajasthan.

DGP Yadav reported that all three were arrested upon their arrival at Indira Gandhi International Airport in Delhi after being extradited from Malaysia. They have since been transported to Punjab for further investigation.

These individuals were part of the Davinder Bambiha Gang, involved in various criminal activities, including murder, extortion, and the supply of explosives, with links to the Pakistani ISI.

Additional Director General (Intelligence) Amit Prasad noted that the extradition and capture of these fugitives are the results of ongoing intelligence operations. This effort has been in progress for several months, with close monitoring of the fugitives’ activities.
