Thousands of Students Celebrate After Protests in Ranchi

Ranchi, August 20: In Jharkhand, the student protests against alleged irregularities in the JPSC-JSSC examinations came to an end after 26 days at the Jaypal Singh Munda Stadium. Following the conclusion of the protests, thousands of students participated in a gratitude march in Ranchi on Wednesday evening.

As the march reached the historic Albert Ekka Chowk on Main Road, it transformed into a festive celebration. Students expressed their joy with drumbeats and fireworks, chanting slogans. The gratitude march saw a large turnout of students from various parts of the state.

The students began their journey from Jaypal Singh Munda Stadium to show appreciation to Chief Minister Hemant Soren. During the march, they carried banners and placards, voicing their support for the government’s decisions. Upon arriving at Albert Ekka Chowk, they were welcomed with flower petals. Many locals showered flowers on the marching students, who also smeared each other with colored powders. The atmosphere was lively, with students dancing to the beats of drums and traditional instruments.

For a brief moment, the entire Chowk turned into a festive ground. The students expressed their gratitude towards the Chief Minister, stating that the government has taken their demands seriously. They felt hopeful for justice following the government’s actions to investigate the alleged irregularities in the JPSC and JSSC examinations and improve the examination system.

The students mentioned that while the protests have been temporarily halted, they will continue to monitor the investigation process. The government has been given 60 days to conduct the inquiry. They made it clear that if the investigation is not conducted fairly or if they notice any discrepancies, they will not hesitate to resume their protests.
