Telangana Police Arrest Man for Offensive Remarks Against Chief Minister

Hyderabad, June 7: Telangana police have filed a case against a man named Kora Chandra Lal for allegedly making offensive comments about the Chief Minister on social media.

According to the police, action has been taken under crime number 395/2026. The Telangana police stated in a post on the social media platform X that Kora Chandra Lal deliberately made inappropriate remarks regarding the Chief Minister. The police confirmed that legal action has been initiated, leading to the arrest of the accused, who has been sent to judicial custody.

In their message, the police also advised social media users to exercise caution. They emphasized the importance of maintaining common sense and restraint while commenting on social media.

The post read, “One should keep common sense in mind while commenting on social media. If not, the law will take its course.”

Following this action, discussions have emerged on social media regarding freedom of expression and the legal provisions related to online comments. However, the police have yet to clarify what specific comments were made by the accused and under which legal sections the action was taken.

Previously, Telangana police conducted a large-scale inspection campaign in lodges and hotels in Hyderabad. Police Commissioner V.C. Sajjanar reported that the inspections were part of “Operation Kavach,” aimed at thwarting attempts by anti-social elements to engage in criminal activities in the city.

According to the police commissioner, nearly 5,000 police personnel participated in this operation, which involved verifying the identification of individuals staying in lodges and checking the records maintained by lodge management.
