Ambuja Cements announces robust Q2 results with ₹9,197 crore in revenue and 16.5 million tons in sales, showcasing strong growth.

Ahmedabad, October 29 (Daily Kiran) : Ambuja Cements, part of the Adani Group, released its financial results for the second quarter of fiscal year 2027 on Thursday. The company reported an operational revenue of ₹9,197 crore for the quarter. Additionally, its operating EBITDA stood at ₹1,271 crore, reflecting an EBITDA margin of 13.8%.

According to information shared with the stock exchange, the cement manufacturer achieved sales of 16.5 million tons during the quarter, driven by consistent growth in its trading business. Year-on-year, trade volumes increased by 8.6%, with the share of trade sales rising by 6 percentage points to 74%.

The contribution of premium products to trade sales reached 37%, marking a 2 percentage point increase compared to the previous year. In its regulatory filing, Ambuja Cements noted that the EBITDA per ton for this quarter was ₹770.

The company also announced the commissioning of new capacity amounting to 4.6 million tons per annum (MTPA) during the quarter, which includes projects in Dahej, Salai, and Kalamboli. Additional capacity of 3.2 MTPA is being stabilized and expanded in Bhatinda and Jodhpur Penna, while 2.4 MTPA capacity is expected to commence in the second half of fiscal year 2027 in Warisaliganj.

Vinod Behra, the whole-time director and CEO of Ambuja Cements, remarked that despite seasonal challenges and external pressures, the company’s results reflect its commitment to quality-based growth. He stated, “Our performance in the second quarter of fiscal year 2027 and the first half demonstrates that Ambuja remains focused on quality growth, despite seasonal and external challenges. Strengthening the business and improving revenue quality through a mix of premium products, along with disciplined execution and cost management, have helped boost profits.”

The total cost for the quarter was ₹4,182 per ton. When accounting for geopolitical disruptions, the total cost rose to ₹4,410 per ton. The industry faced margin pressures due to high prices of petcoke and coal, increased diesel costs, and rising packaging expenses.

The company noted a slight increase in logistics costs compared to last year; however, it mitigated some of this impact by reducing the primary lead distance from 265 km to 254 km.

On the financial front, Ambuja Cements maintained a debt-free balance sheet, with a net worth of ₹72,238 crore and cash reserves of ₹1,070 crore. Furthermore, the company holds the highest credit ratings of AAA/A1+ from agencies such as CRISIL, CARE Ratings, India Ratings, and ICRA.
