Mumbai, February 9: Actress Taranjit Kaur is set to appear in the upcoming web series ‘Shabad: Reet Aur Rivaaz.’ Directed by Amit Gupta, this series is based on a Punjabi backdrop, where Kaur will play a significant role.
Recently, the actress shared insights about her role in the series. She revealed that she received a call for an audition while visiting her parents in Chandigarh. “I got this role when I was in Chandigarh visiting my parents. I received a call for the audition for the role of Manjot and sent my first audition video shortly after,” she explained.
Kaur detailed the audition process, stating, “Late at night, around 11 PM, I was asked to send another audition video, and I ended up shooting and sending it around 1 AM.”
She mentioned feeling hesitant about filming the video late at night since her parents were asleep. “Initially, I felt a bit awkward making the video because my parents were sleeping, and I didn’t want to disturb them. However, the team insisted on the video as time was running short before the shoot,” she said. “Around 2 to 2:30 AM, I received a call from the director and producer informing me that I was finalized for the role and asked if I could take a morning flight to finalize everything.”
Kaur expressed that she had to decline the team’s request to travel to Mumbai the next day. “I had to request the team to wait until I returned to Mumbai because I felt it wouldn’t be right for my parents to wake up and find me suddenly missing. I wanted to ensure I could complete the formalities in the coming days,” she added.
In conclusion, the actress expressed her excitement about being part of the series. “It has been an unusual and fun journey for me. My role was finalized just days before going on set. I am especially grateful to director Amit, who encouraged me to have the courage to move forward,” she stated.
