Tamil Nadu announces the timetable for 2027 board exams, with Plus Two practicals starting in February and results expected in May.

Chennai, October 14 (Daily Kiran) : Tamil Nadu’s School Education Minister, Raj Mohan, announced the timetable for the 2027 Secondary School Leaving Certificate (SSLC), Plus One (11th grade) backlog papers, and Plus Two (12th grade) public examinations. The exams will take place in March and April, with practicals for Plus Two students commencing in February.
According to the schedule, Plus Two public exams will begin on March 3 and conclude on March 29. The timetable includes papers for Tamil and other languages, along with various subjects. Practical exams for Plus Two students are slated from February 8 to February 18, taking place before the written tests.
This announcement provides clarity for students and schools, allowing them to prepare effectively for both segments of the examinations. The backlog exams for Plus One students will run from March 5 to April 1, aimed at candidates needing to clear remaining papers.
Reports indicate that results for the higher secondary examinations will be announced on May 7. Students must complete their written exams by the dates outlined in the timetable before the results are released.
For Class 10 students, the SSLC public exams will commence on March 17 and conclude on April 12. Model exams are scheduled from February 19 to February 26, allowing students to assess their preparation ahead of the public examinations.
The SSLC results are expected to be declared on May 20. Issuing the timetable in October aligns with the standard practice of announcing public examination schedules mid-academic year. This early announcement enables schools to finalize their curriculum, plan revision sessions, and organize exam preparations.
The examination period will extend into April, with proposed results set for release in May. With over 1.5 million candidates expected to participate in the SSLC and Plus Two exams, this timetable is a crucial milestone for annual board exam preparations, offering students essential dates for their revision plans.
