
Bhagalpur, April 29: Ramdhani Yadav, the prime suspect in the murder of executive officer Krishna Bhushan Kumar, was killed in a police encounter early Wednesday in Bhagalpur district. Three police officers were injured during the incident.
On Tuesday evening, masked assailants entered the Sultan Ganj municipal office and shot Krishna Bhushan Kumar in the chairman’s chamber. The attackers also shot the council chairman, Rajkumar Guddu, who is in critical condition. Following the incident, police arrived at the scene to initiate an investigation. Senior Superintendent of Police Pramod Yadav stated that after identifying the suspects through CCTV footage, the police chief organized three separate teams to apprehend the criminals.
The police successfully identified Ramdhani Yadav from the footage and began cordoning off various areas in the district. Unable to escape, the suspects attempted to surrender at the local police station. The police took them into custody and began interrogating them. While attempting to recover weapons from the suspects, an accomplice attacked the police team. Ramdhani Yadav also opened fire while trying to flee, prompting the police to retaliate.
During the exchange, Ramdhani Yadav was injured by gunfire. Three police officers, including one Deputy Superintendent and two inspectors, sustained injuries and were transported to the hospital. Medical personnel later pronounced Ramdhani Yadav dead. He had multiple prior charges against him. The police are continuing their investigation into the entire incident.
