Mumbai, June 21: On the occasion of World Music Day, singer Stebin Ben has gifted his fans a special treat. He has stepped into the world of Qawwali with his new song ‘Simplicity’. Stebin shared that this experience was both new and deeply soothing for him.
Stebin Ben remarked, “When I first heard ‘Simplicity’, I felt an immediate connection to the song. The lyrics and melody possess a unique truth that resonates directly with the heart. As an artist, such songs are rare, offering a chance to present emotions with such honesty and depth. That’s why I felt this song was very close to my heart from the moment I listened to it.”
He added, “‘Simplicity’ is a journey of emotions. The song beautifully weaves together feelings of love, longing, dedication, and simplicity. Its greatest feature is that it retains the essence of traditional Qawwali while blending it with modern music. This will resonate with older music lovers while also appealing to the new generation.”
Stebin mentioned, “Working in the Qawwali style was a new experience for me. This genre has its own demands and depth. Understanding this style and presenting its emotions accurately was challenging. However, I sang this song with complete honesty, striving to convey its essence just as it was created.”
In addition to providing his vocals, Stebin also appears in the music video directed by Arjun Mukherjee. The music has been composed by the duo Raees and Jain-Sam, with lyrics penned by Vicky Nagar. The timeless poetry of renowned poet Saba Akbarabadi has also been incorporated into the song.
