Lucknow, March 8: ST Hasan, a leader of the Samajwadi Party, addressed the ongoing conflicts involving Iran, the United States, and Israel. He emphasized that both Hindus and Muslims in India are safe, stating that only a small percentage of people pose a threat.
In a recent interview, Hasan remarked that the missile attacks occurring in Muslim countries do not reflect the safety of Muslims in India. He noted that in Arab nations, mosques are not demolished, and religious freedom is respected. He highlighted that both communities in India coexist peacefully, with only 5% of individuals causing concern.
Reflecting on the safety of Muslims in India, Hasan recalled a time 14 years ago when there were no issues, and people lived harmoniously. However, he expressed that the current government has led to discrimination against Muslims and has hurt religious sentiments, something he believes is not seen even in Islamic countries.
Regarding missile strikes in countries like Dubai and Qatar, he clarified that these attacks are primarily targeting American bases and refineries, not the general populace. He noted that the markets in these regions remain vibrant and active.
In response to BJP leader Sangeet Som’s comments about Akhilesh Yadav being the last ruler of the Mughal era, Hasan urged Som to reflect on his own standing within the party. He defended Yadav, stating that he is a good Hindu who promotes unity among all communities. Hasan argued that not all Mughal rulers were conquerors; many contributed positively to society.
On the remarks made by Union Minister Giriraj Singh regarding West Bengal, Hasan criticized Singh’s agenda of dividing Hindus and Muslims, asserting that citizenship is granted by the central government, not state governments.
Lastly, regarding the ban on social media for children in Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh, Hasan welcomed the decision. He pointed out that the internet often exposes children to inappropriate content, which can lead to harmful thoughts and actions. He questioned how the government plans to implement this decision effectively.
