Kolkata, March 17: The Trinamool Congress (TMC) has announced its candidates for all seats in the West Bengal Assembly elections. Mohammad Tausif Rahman has been nominated for the Bashirhat North Assembly seat. Upon receiving the ticket, Rahman expressed gratitude to the party’s top leadership, stating, “We have no competition. We will win this assembly seat easily.”
In a conversation in Kolkata, TMC candidate Mohammad Tausif Rahman emphasized that there is no competition. However, he acknowledged the importance of support from the people, stating, “As long as the people are with us, as long as Didi is with you, and as long as the party stands by you, we will succeed. There is only one face for all seats, and that is Mamata Banerjee. I am merely a representative. We will win this seat.”
Rahman further asserted that whether it is Bashirhat or any other TMC constituency, they face no challenges. “If there were challenges, we would announce 150-150 like the BJP. But we have no challenges. We are like students who prepare for exams every day of the year. We are not the kind of students who try to do a ‘litmus test’ the day before a chemistry exam. Those who work for five years have nothing to fear.”
He noted that the new generation is a significant factor in this election. “Everyone knows that India has the largest youth population in the world. If a person is 50 years old but is fit to work and delivers results, they will obviously receive a ticket; age is not a factor.”
Rahman concluded by expressing his gratitude to Mamata Banerjee, Abhishek Banerjee, and the entire team for trusting him and providing him the opportunity to contest in the elections.
