Soumya Uniyal Reflects on Her Role in Matargashti as a Dream Come True

Mumbai, October 30 (Daily Kiran) : Soumya Uniyal is currently making waves with her role as Charu in the series “Matargashti.” For her, this character represents the fulfillment of a dream she had written down in her diary.

In a recent conversation, Soumya revealed that she had detailed her aspirations for a series role, including the type of character she wished to portray. When she landed the role of Charu, it felt as if her written wishes had come to life.

Discussing her character, Soumya emphasized that understanding Charu isn’t as straightforward as it seems. “If you look at Charu superficially, you might misinterpret her,” she explained. Some parents might even view her as a bad influence, warning their children to stay away. However, in reality, Charu is a deeply caring friend, protective of her loved ones, and openly expressive about her emotions. Soumya admires Charu’s confidence and fearless attitude, qualities she aspires to embody herself.

Working on this series has been a dream come true for Soumya. “I had a diary where I wrote about wanting to act in a series,” she shared. “I detailed what kind of character I envisioned and how long the episodes should be. In a way, I feel like I manifested this opportunity through my thoughts and desires.”

Soumya also spoke about her experience working alongside veteran actor Rajesh Sharma, whom she has admired for years. “Rajesh is an actor whose talent speaks for itself. His ability to seamlessly adapt to any role is truly commendable,” she noted.

Reflecting on her relationship with co-star Adrija Sinha, Soumya admitted to feeling intimidated upon first seeing her work. Their friendship blossomed during the costume trials for the series, and it deepened throughout filming. “Now, Adrija feels like a younger sister to me, and I genuinely wish her all the best for the future,” she added.

“Matargashti” is currently available for streaming on Netflix.
