Shraddha Kapoor Shines in Eitha Trailer, Portraying Iconic Lavani Artist

Shraddha Kapoors upcoming film Eitha explores the life of Lavani artist Vithabai Narayangaonkar, showcasing her struggles and triumphs.

Mumbai, October 30 (Daily Kiran) : Actress Shraddha Kapoor is making headlines with her upcoming film “Eitha.” In this highly anticipated project, she portrays the legendary Lavani artist Vithabai Narayangaonkar from Maharashtra. The film’s trailer, released on Friday, offers a vibrant glimpse into the rich world of Maharashtra’s folk art, focusing on a woman’s relentless fight for her art, identity, and respect.

The nearly three-minute trailer delves into the traditional Lavani art, highlighting the struggles that lie beneath its glamorous surface. It showcases how Vithabai builds her reputation through talent, facing numerous challenges along the way.

In the trailer, Kapoor appears in a traditional nauvari saree, adorned with heavy jewelry and ankle bells, embodying the essence of a Lavani performer. Her expressions, confidence, and stage presence add depth to her character. One notable line from her dialogue resonates powerfully: “Let’s see what breaks, my trust or my pride. My trust was my pride. When that broke, everything shattered.”

Mohammad Zeeshan Ayyub also delivers an engaging performance, adding a unique flavor to the narrative. His character challenges Kapoor’s Vithabai, saying, “Fate can’t win against your dancing, Eitha. Will you leave without dancing? Look, the sky’s canopy is up, the moonlight is here, and the winds are ready. You used to say that if I die without dancing, I’ll be pitied.” To which Kapoor replies, “But if I die dancing, I’ll become an example.”

Another impactful moment features Kapoor discussing her nauvari saree, stating, “This is not just fabric; it’s pride. Those who get to wear it are fortunate.” This scene symbolizes the traditional attire as a representation of a woman’s honor, identity, and connection to her roots.

Alongside Kapoor, the film features Randeep Hooda, Zeeshan Ayyub, and Nana Patekar in significant roles. Hooda portrays Anna Sawant Merchant, a crucial figure in Vithabai’s life. Recently, he shared his first look poster on social media, showcasing a transformed appearance with a large mustache and a robust physique. The film also includes Anant Joshi, Siddharth Jadhav, Akshara Singh, and Ulka Gupta.

The music for “Eitha” is composed by Ajay-Atul, while Vaibhavi Merchant choreographs the dance sequences.

“Eitha” is a biographical musical drama based on the life and struggles of Vithabai Narayangaonkar, directed by Laxman Utekar and produced by Dinesh Vijan, Laxman Utekar, and Karishma Sharma. The film, created under the banners of Maddock Films and Kathputli Creations, is set to hit theaters on December 4, 2026.

Vithabai Narayangaonkar was a prominent Lavani artist, born into an artistic family in Pandharpur, Solapur district, Maharashtra. She was introduced to folk songs like Lavani, Gawlan, and Bhedik at a young age and began performing on stage early in her life. Her talent in acting, singing, and dancing earned her a unique place in the world of folk art. Known as the Lavani Empress, she passed away in 2002, but her contributions to Maharashtra’s folk culture continue to be celebrated.
