New Delhi (Patrika English News): Sony has started rolling out the Android 16 update for its flagship smartphone, the Xperia 1 VII, which launched earlier this year with Android 15.

According to a screenshot shared on Reddit, the update carries firmware version 71.1.A.2.68 and requires a download size of about 1.13GB for the Xperia 1 VII with model designation XQ-FS54 EU.
Interestingly, the security patch level remains August 2025, even after installing Android 16. Some users noted that the new update feels almost identical to Android 15, with the most noticeable change being a redesigned Settings app.

The Sony Xperia 1 VII 5G is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite SoC, paired with 12GB RAM and up to 512GB storage. Sony promises four Android OS upgrades and six years of security updates for the device.
