Skanda Shashthi: Auspicious Timing and Rituals for April 22

New Delhi, April 21: The festival of Skanda Shashthi, dedicated to Lord Kartikeya, the son of Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati, will be celebrated on April 22 (Wednesday). This day holds significant religious importance. It marks the Shukla Paksha Shashthi Tithi, which is dedicated to Lord Skanda. Devotees observe fasts and perform rituals in honor of Lord Skanda, also known as Skanda Shashthi.

According to the Panchang, on this day, the sunrise will occur at 5:49 AM, and sunset will be at 6:51 PM. The Shashthi Tithi will last until 10:49 PM, after which the Saptami Tithi will begin. The Ardra Nakshatra will be present until 10:13 PM, followed by the start of the Punarvasu Nakshatra.

On this day, Ravi Yoga will be in effect from 5:49 AM to 10:13 PM, which is considered favorable for auspicious activities. Although there is no Abhijit Muhurat, the Vijay Muhurat will be from 2:30 PM to 3:22 PM, deemed auspicious for achieving success in tasks. The Amrit Kaal will occur from 12:57 PM to 2:26 PM.

Additionally, the Brahma Muhurat will be from 4:21 AM to 5:05 AM, while the evening’s Ghodhuli Muhurat will take place from 6:50 PM to 7:12 PM.

Regarding inauspicious timings, Rahukal will be from 12:20 PM to 1:58 PM. Yamgand Kaal will last from 7:27 AM to 9:04 AM, and Gulik Kaal will be from 10:42 AM to 12:20 PM. Durmuhurt will occur from 11:54 AM to 12:46 PM.

Furthermore, the Vrajya Kaal will be from 7:45 AM to 9:14 AM. Devotees are advised to pay attention to the auspicious timings for their rituals and to avoid inauspicious periods like Rahukal.
