Bangalore, April 4: Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah stated on Saturday that his stance against inequality has made him a target of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) and Manuist forces.
While addressing an event organized by the Karnataka Federation of Marginalized Communities in Bangalore, Siddaramaiah launched a strong critique against the BJP and RSS. He remarked, “I stand against inequality and support marginalized people, which is why the RSS and Manuists are targeting me. They are attempting to attack me through Pratap Simha.”
The Chief Minister emphasized that the Congress party is the only political entity that unites farmers, laborers, and the underprivileged. He stated, “The Congress party is committed to empowering marginalized individuals and ensuring economic and social freedom for all.”
Referencing Dr. B.R. Ambedkar’s ideals, he noted that Ambedkar envisioned economic and social freedom for every individual, and Congress is working towards that goal.
Siddaramaiah urged the public to understand the difference between Congress and BJP, saying, “Congress is for the poor and marginalized, while BJP serves corporate interests and the wealthy.”
He highlighted his government’s achievements, including loan and interest waivers for marginalized communities, and various initiatives aimed at promoting economic development.
The Chief Minister also called for support for Congress candidate Umesh Meti in the upcoming by-elections, asserting, “It is essential to defeat the BJP and ensure Umesh Meti’s victory.”
Earlier, Siddaramaiah criticized the BJP’s ‘Vibrant Gujarat’ model, claiming it only benefits corporate entities and widens the gap between the rich and the poor.
He further targeted Prime Minister Narendra Modi, stating that promises made in 2014 remain unfulfilled. He remarked, “There was a promise to bring back black money and deposit 15 lakh rupees in every account, but nothing has materialized.”
