Shocking Murder in Dharavi: Body Found on Footpath

Mumbai, March 28: A shocking incident has emerged from Dharavi, Mumbai, where a man was brutally murdered. His body was discovered lying on the footpath along the Sion-Bandra Link Road. The Dharavi police have registered a murder case against unidentified individuals and have initiated an investigation.

Initially, the case appeared to be one of accidental death. However, the post-mortem report and evidence collected from the scene confirmed it as a homicide. Following this revelation, the investigation has intensified, with police teams working to identify both the victim and the assailants.

According to the Dharavi police, the deceased is believed to be between 50 and 55 years old. He was found severely injured and unconscious on the footpath, heading from Kalinagar Junction towards Dharavi T-Junction on the Sion-Bandra Link Road.

Upon receiving the information, a police patrol team rushed to the scene and transported the victim to Sion Hospital with the assistance of an ambulance. Unfortunately, the doctors declared him dead upon arrival. The victim has not yet been identified, complicating the investigation further.

Initially, an Accidental Death Report (ADR) was filed; however, the post-mortem findings shifted the focus of the investigation. Doctors confirmed that the victim died from a severe blow to the head caused by a heavy object, ruling out the possibility of an accident. The injuries were primarily located on the head, forehead, and near the ears, indicating a deliberate and violent attack.

During the investigation, police discovered a blood-stained stone or piece of concrete, suspected to have been used in the murder. Investigators believe the assailant repeatedly struck the victim’s head with this object, resulting in fatal injuries. The collected evidence has been sent for forensic analysis.

Police officials reported that the victim had deep wounds on his head, forehead, and right ear, while both eyes were swollen and injured, clearly indicating a brutal assault. The lack of identification documents has made it challenging for authorities to ascertain the victim’s identity.

To advance the investigation, police are coordinating with nearby police stations and reviewing missing persons records. Several angles, including personal enmity, robbery, or disputes, are being explored.

So far, no eyewitnesses have come forward, leading investigators to rely heavily on nearby CCTV footage to gather clues and reconstruct the sequence of events.
