Jashpur, March 17: A shocking incident has emerged from Jashpur district in Chhattisgarh, where a wife conspired with relatives to murder her husband. The brutal attack left the husband severely injured, leading to his death two days later.
The incident occurred in the village of Premnagar Keradiha, within the Narayanpur police jurisdiction. The deceased, Sunil Ram, was attacked by his wife, Meera Bai, who summoned her family members to assist in the assault. Sunil succumbed to his injuries two days after the attack, causing a stir in the local community.
Family members reported the incident to the Narayanpur police, prompting an investigation. Following the post-mortem report, which confirmed homicide, the police registered a case under sections 103(1) and 190 of the Indian Penal Code. Five suspects, including four women, have been arrested in connection with the case.
The police acted swiftly, detaining all five accused, including Meera Bai, who confessed to participating in the assault during interrogation. They have since been remanded to judicial custody as investigations continue.
SDOP Vinod Kumar Mandavi from Kunkuri stated, “On March 4, the deceased’s mother, Parvati Bai, filed a complaint stating that her son was brutally beaten by his wife Meera Bai and her relatives on March 1, leading to his death on March 3. Upon investigation, it was revealed that his death was due to severe bodily injuries.”
The police are continuing their inquiries into the matter.
