Shaina NC Criticizes Opposition for Anti-Women Stance on Reservation Bill

Mumbai, April 18: BJP leader Shaina NC targeted the opposition on Saturday, stating that the rejection of the Women’s Reservation Bill clearly indicates their anti-women stance.

In a conversation with reporters, Shaina NC remarked, “After 27 years, women were to receive 33 percent reservation, with an increase in seats. The new seats were not taken from men’s positions but were created independently. Yet, the opposition did not allow the bill to pass.”

She further stated, “Repeated discussions on census, delimitation, SC/ST, tribal, OBC, and Muslim women’s issues were raised. Any party can choose to support any woman they wish, but the way the opposition presented their case makes it clear that they are anti-women. Rahul Gandhi, Akhilesh Yadav, and MK Stalin should be ashamed.”

Shaina NC accused the opposition of being flustered. They seemed unsure how to support the bill, leading them to make excuses repeatedly. She said, “It was merely a drama, lacking any genuine policy or intent. The opposition is against women.”

The BJP leader praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi, stating, “PM Modi has shown tremendous political will. In a male-dominated mindset, he has asserted that provisions will be made for our sisters and mothers. The ‘Nari Shakti Vandan Adhiniyam’ and ‘Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao’ are not just resolutions but a deep belief that change will happen. As India develops, women will advance alongside men.”

Meanwhile, actress and BJP spokesperson Malavika Avinash commented in Bengaluru, “One expects patriarchy from men, but here we have a Prime Minister who says, ‘You take all the credit; I will just get advertisements published with your name using government funds.’ He might have said this jokingly, but there is a profound truth in his words, as he stated that he would not take credit; the Parliament will take credit for passing this bill.”

She added, “Conversely, there is another mindset that reflects the patriarchy exhibited by women, which saddens me more. One can expect patriarchy from the men in Congress and SP, but what can we say about women? Women also hold similar views.”
