Rajasthan Chief Minister Calls for Unity in Support of BJP in West Bengal

Kolkata, April 19: In a recent event held in Howrah, Kolkata, Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma was honored by the local Rajasthan community. During his address, he launched a verbal attack on opposition parties while appealing for a decisive mandate in West Bengal.

CM Sharma urged the audience to unite in support of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). He stated that if West Bengal desires governance similar to Rajasthan, it must remove the current administration, which he accused of being mired in corruption, cut-money, and appeasement politics.

Referring to the ‘Nari Shakti Vandan Adhiniyam’, the Chief Minister criticized the Congress, Trinamool Congress, and allied parties for opposing this legislation. He labeled their stance as a reflection of narrow-mindedness and emphasized that the failure of this bill would be an insult to women. He stressed that women across the nation would respond strongly to this setback, asserting that empowering women after decades of delay is a necessity for modern India.

Highlighting central government initiatives like the Jan Dhan Yojana and Ujjwala Yojana, he credited Prime Minister Modi’s leadership for prioritizing women’s empowerment.

CM Sharma also emphasized the global contributions of Rajasthani expatriates, particularly in sectors such as education, healthcare, and social services. He noted that in recent years, 26 domestic and 14 international chapters have been established through the Rajasthan Foundation. He encouraged expatriates to invest in Rajasthan by establishing industries, thereby strengthening their ties to their roots.

Discussing development initiatives, the Chief Minister stated that Rajasthan is rapidly progressing under a double-engine government. He mentioned the signed memorandums of understanding (MOUs) worth ₹35 lakh crore during the ‘Rising Rajasthan Global Summit’, with projects worth ₹9 lakh crore already underway. He pointed out significant infrastructure and welfare initiatives, including water projects like the ‘Ram Jal Setu Link Project’ and the ‘Yamuna Water Agreement’. Additionally, he highlighted the expansion of electricity supply to farmers, expected to reach all districts by 2027. CM Sharma questioned why similar development has not been achieved in West Bengal.

He called for the establishment of a double-engine government in the state, emphasizing its critical importance for accelerating development and ensuring good governance. The event saw enthusiastic participation from the expatriate community, who warmly welcomed the Chief Minister during his visit.
