Bharatpur, September 12 (Daily Kiran) : In Bharatpur, Rajasthan, seven police officers are facing serious allegations of assaulting a 16-year-old minor and attempting to frame him in a false weapons case. The accused include five officers from the District Special Team (DST), an Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) stationed at the Mathura Gate police station, and another police official.
The case was registered following a complaint by the minor’s aunt, invoking provisions of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act among other charges. According to the complaint, the minor began a car rental business in December of the previous year. Subsequently, a DST constable named Dashrath allegedly demanded ₹10,000 monthly from him.
The family claims that out of fear, the minor paid the amount for three consecutive months. However, after suffering financial losses, he ceased operations, yet the demands for money continued.
When the minor refused to pay further, Dashrath reportedly threatened him with a fabricated case. The aunt shared that after the death of the minor’s father shortly after his birth, she took him to Bharatpur, assuming responsibility for his upbringing and education.
On August 19, the minor visited Khatu Shyamji with friends. On August 21, while returning, a tire on their car punctured around 9 AM. Stopping at a shop for tea, two DST officers, Ankit and Manveer, approached him, claiming Dashrath wanted to see him and took him away.
At the DST office, Dashrath and other officers allegedly assaulted the minor with belts, kicks, and punches. Another constable, Hariom, is accused of further harassment. Later that evening, ASI Shivlal and two other officers reportedly blindfolded the minor and took him to a deserted location.
There, they allegedly pulled out a country-made firearm from a bag, threatening him that he would be shot if he did not provide a coerced video statement. The firearm was then reportedly placed in the minor’s pants, and a staged search was conducted to film the weapon’s “discovery.”
On August 21, the minor was charged with illegal possession of a firearm. When the family learned of the situation, they rushed to the police station to secure his bail. Upon returning home, they noticed severe injuries on his body.
Subsequently, the family approached the court. Advocate Paramveer Sogarwal, representing them, stated that an application was filed on August 26, leading the court to summon the Mathura Gate police station chief, Harlal Meena, directing him to register an FIR.
Following the court’s orders, the FIR against the seven officers was filed on Friday. Harlal Meena confirmed that the FIR was based on the aunt’s complaint, naming Dashrath, Ankit, Satyaveer, Hariom, Abhimanyu, ASI Shivlal, and another officer as accused.
The investigation has been assigned to Hemendra Chaudhary, the officer in charge of Atal Bandh police station. Authorities have stated that they are examining the allegations against the officers. The truth regarding the assault, extortion claims, and the firearm recovery will be determined upon completion of the investigation.
