Edinburgh, March 31: The Scotland Women’s Cricket Team is set to compete in a T20 tri-series against Bangladesh and the Netherlands ahead of the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2026. This series will take place at The Grange Club from May to June.
The tri-series kicks off on May 28, with Scotland facing the Netherlands. Following this, Scotland will take on Bangladesh on May 30. On May 31, Bangladesh will compete against the Netherlands. The series will continue on June 2, when Scotland plays Bangladesh again, followed by another match against the Netherlands on June 3. The final match of the series is scheduled for June 4, featuring the Netherlands against Bangladesh.
This series marks Scotland’s first home match since September 2022. Since then, the team has shown consistent improvement. They have qualified for two consecutive Women’s T20 World Cups and achieved notable victories against full-member teams such as the West Indies, Zimbabwe, and Ireland in both ODI and T20 formats.
After this series, Scotland will head to England for two additional warm-up matches. They will begin their T20 World Cup campaign against Ireland at Old Trafford on June 13.
Captain Kathryn Bryce is eagerly anticipating the chance to play in front of her home fans in Edinburgh. In a statement released by Scotland Cricket, she expressed her excitement, saying, “I am thrilled about the opportunity to play in my hometown of Edinburgh. The last time we played there was in 2022, which feels like a long time ago. I had COVID-19 then, so I couldn’t participate in that series. This will be the first time in my career that I play for Scotland in Edinburgh, and it’s incredibly exciting.”
She added, “The coming months are going to be crucial, as we will be heading to England for the T20 World Cup right after this. Given the excitement and enthusiasm surrounding this significant occasion, I hope to see many supporters in the stadium. Both Bangladesh and the Netherlands are excellent teams, making these matches a fantastic opportunity for us to prepare for the main tournament. I can’t wait to step onto the field in Scotland wearing the thistle in front of our home crowd.”
