Sanjay Raut Critiques Governments Call for Imran Khan to Leave India

Sanjay Raut questions the governments stance on Imran Khans citizenship and protests, calling for equal treatment of all foreign nationals.

Mumbai, October 15 (Daily Kiran) : Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Sanjay Raut held a press conference on Thursday, criticizing the government for suggesting that Imran Khan, a foreign citizen, should leave the country. Raut raised concerns about the implications of asking artists to leave due to their participation in protests. He questioned the rationale behind targeting Khan, who has become a voice for the youth in India.

Raut pointed out that many Bollywood artists are also foreign nationals, with connections to countries like Canada, Dubai, and the UAE. He argued that if Khan is to be expelled for his citizenship status, a comprehensive list of all foreign artists should be compiled for similar action.

He cited YouTuber Dhruv Rathee as another example, noting that despite his foreign citizenship and participation in protests, he has not been asked to leave. Raut emphasized that singling out artists for their involvement in demonstrations is unjust.

The MP also mentioned Sheikh Hasina, suggesting that the government should first consider expelling those who have allegedly sought refuge in India. He accused the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) of allowing numerous foreign nationals to reside in the country under its patronage.

Raut expressed confidence in the Supreme Court regarding election-related petitions, revealing that a total of 11 petitions have been filed. These include cases involving prominent leaders like Rahul Gandhi and Mallikarjun Kharge, along with nine other coalition partners from the INDIA alliance.

He stated that the Supreme Court has accepted these petitions against Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar and the Election Commission, with hearings set to begin soon. Raut expressed his trust in the judiciary and hopes for justice for millions of voters across the country.
