Mumbai, June 25: Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Sanjay Raut has alleged that some rebel MPs have issued threats, stating that if anyone speaks against them, they will resort to violence. He described these threats as extremely serious and has formally alerted the Mumbai Police Commissioner, Devendra Bharati, in writing regarding this matter.
In a press conference on Thursday, Raut remarked that if the Indian Army needed to drop bombs in Pakistan, they would seek permission from Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Similarly, he suggested that Modi would consult U.S. President Donald Trump on such matters. However, he emphasized that these individuals are openly declaring their intent to use bombs and commit murder, claiming they have already killed many people. Raut insisted that an investigation into these claims is warranted.
He questioned the source of the bombs, asking if Eknath Shinde had established a bomb factory. Raut noted that there is public outrage against these traitors, raising concerns about whether they have been provided security with bombs. If so, he asserted that this should be thoroughly investigated. He plans to take this matter to court and stated that they will also organize protests against these individuals, asserting that they fear no one.
Additionally, Raut commented on the decision to include the Emergency period in NCERT textbooks. He stated that if the Emergency is being added to the syllabus, it reflects the behavior of those in power, suggesting that the country has been under a form of Emergency for the past 12 years. He clarified that Indira Gandhi did not dismantle any party or the Constitution, and even arranged for the welfare of those imprisoned during that time.
Raut argued that the Constitution allows for the declaration of an Emergency during adverse situations. He criticized those who question the Constitution, stating that it indicates a lack of respect for it. He also highlighted that the government had implemented demonetization and the Epidemic Act during the COVID-19 pandemic, showcasing the constitutional provisions for handling crises.
The Rajya Sabha MP pointed out that Balasaheb Thackeray had supported the Emergency due to the prevailing chaos, noting that BJP leaders were openly challenging the government and misleading the public. He concluded that if someone were to advise against following the Prime Minister’s orders, it would warrant not just one, but multiple Emergencies.
