Samsung Unveils Brightest 77-inch QD-OLED TV Ahead of CES 2026

Samsung Display has introduced a 77-inch QD-OLED TV panel capable of reaching a peak brightness of 4,500 nits. Revealed ahead of CES 2026, the company describes it as the world’s brightest self-emissive display. This QD-OLED panel attains its high brightness by combining the peak luminance of each RGB component, which Samsung states enhances color purity and provides greater perceptual brightness compared to OLED panels using white subpixels.

The new panel also features AI-based image optimization technology, enabling the TV to automatically adjust picture quality based on the content and viewing environment. Samsung intends to incorporate this advanced panel into its premium OLED TV models launching in 2026.

At CES, Samsung Display will showcase a variety of AI-powered OLED concepts. Among them is the AI OLED Bot, a compact robot with a 13.4-inch OLED screen designed to act as a teaching assistant. Additional concept devices include the AI OLED Turntable and AI OLED Cassette, speaker systems equipped with circular OLED panels that offer music recommendations and display real-time visual content.

Samsung has also established a dedicated durability zone at the event. One demonstration features a robotic arm repeatedly throwing basketballs at 18 foldable OLED panels mounted on a board, with the panels remaining fully functional after impacts. Another test involves dropping steel balls on foldable displays to compare their durability with other screen types.

In the automotive sector, Samsung will present new cockpit designs such as an 18.1-inch flexible L-shaped center display, a concealed passenger screen, and OLED tail lamps capable of showing live road alerts to vehicles behind.

Additionally, Samsung Display is exhibiting its RGB OLEDoS microdisplay, which offers 5,000 PPI in a compact 1.4-inch panel. This microdisplay is integrated into a headset demo to demonstrate its potential applications in future extended reality (XR) devices.
