Samsung has begun rolling out the One UI 8 Watch update based on Wear OS 6 for its Galaxy Watch FE. This update was first introduced for Samsung smartwatches in July but has been released gradually across different models.

The Galaxy Watch FE, launched in 2024 as a budget-friendly option and essentially a rebranded Galaxy Watch4, is the latest device to receive this upgrade. The update is currently available in South Korea, featuring firmware version R861XXU1CYK6.
This new software includes the October 2025 security patch. Although this patch is somewhat outdated for December, it reflects the common update cycle in the Wear OS ecosystem.
If no major issues arise during the rollout in Korea, Samsung plans to expand the update to other regions in the coming days and weeks.
Users in Korea who wish to install the update can do so through the Galaxy Wearable app on their smartphones. They should navigate to Watch settings, select Watch software update, and then tap Download and install.
