Mumbai, April 5: Samsung has recently broadened its One UI 8.5 beta program, which was initially exclusive to the Galaxy S25 series for several months. Just as users anticipated the stable version’s release, the tech giant began including additional Galaxy devices in the beta program.
In early March 2026, the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Galaxy Z Flip 7 were added to the One UI 8.5 beta program. By the end of that month, the beta also encompassed the Galaxy S24 series, Galaxy S25 FE, Galaxy S24 FE, Galaxy Tab S11 series, Galaxy Z Fold 6, and Galaxy Z Flip 6. This list may not be exhaustive, as more Galaxy devices are expected to receive the One UI 8.5 beta in the upcoming weeks.
Upcoming Galaxy Devices for One UI 8.5 Beta
- Galaxy S23
- Galaxy S23+
- Galaxy S23 Ultra
- Galaxy Z Fold 5
- Galaxy Z Flip 5
Earlier this week, the first One UI 8.5 beta build for these smartphones was detected on Samsung’s servers, indicating that the brand might soon open the beta program for them.
While this expansion will provide more Samsung users with early access to new features and upgrades, it may also delay the stable rollout.
One UI 8.5 continues to be based on Android 16 but utilizes a newer QPR2 build, introducing additional features and enhancements from Google. The update boasts a fully customizable Quick Settings interface, allowing users to resize, rearrange, and organize toggles and sliders.
Moreover, the update features refreshed app icons with a subtle 3D effect for first-party applications. The lock screen has also been enhanced to automatically adjust the clock and date, now displaying weather visuals based on current conditions.
A significant upgrade in One UI 8.5 is the introduction of a modern floating tab bar UI, a pill-shaped element with a frosted color scheme, replacing the traditional tab bar at the bottom. The new software includes “Now Nudge,” which proactively suggests actions and information based on on-screen content. Additional features include Partial screen recording, Audio broadcast, Storage share, Failed authentication lock, and Theft protection. For more details about One UI 8.5, visit the official page.
