Chiranjeevi and Ram Charan Meet Amit Shah to Demand Strict Laws Against Deepfake Technology

Hyderabad, November 2 (Daily Kiran) : Megastar Chiranjeevi recently expressed his concerns about manipulated and offensive videos targeting artists on social media platform X. On Monday, he met with Union Home Minister Amit Shah to discuss the serious threats posed by the misuse of artificial intelligence (AI) and deepfake technologies. His son and actor Ram Charan accompanied him during this significant meeting.

According to close sources, Chiranjeevi requested the meeting to elaborate on the negative impacts of these technologies on artists’ rights and creative content. He moved beyond mere social media expressions of concern, advocating for robust safety measures and strict actions against such abuses on behalf of the entire film industry.

Minister Amit Shah listened attentively to their concerns and assured them that the government would conduct an immediate investigation. He committed to developing strong protective measures and stringent punitive provisions. Shah also suggested that they provide a written presentation on the issue and assigned Union Minister G. Kishan Reddy to coordinate the matter.

Expressing gratitude for the Minister’s response, Chiranjeevi called it an encouraging step for the film industry. He expressed hope that effective safety measures for artists would soon be implemented.

Ram Charan shared details of the meeting on his Instagram account, stating, “I feel honored to meet with Union Home Minister Amit Shah alongside my father today. His understanding and positive response to our concerns about the growing misuse of AI and deepfake technologies, as well as their serious impact on artists and the film industry, is encouraging.”
