Mumbai, October 13 (Daily Kiran) : Bollywood has produced numerous films that leave a lasting impression, and “Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge” (DDLJ) is undoubtedly one of them. Released in 1995, the film featured Shah Rukh Khan as Raj and Paremeet Sethi as Kuljeet. While their on-screen roles brought tension over Simran, the two actors formed a strong friendship off-screen.
In a recent interview marking the film’s 30th anniversary, Sethi shared a memorable story from the set. He recalled a scene filmed at a farmhouse, where both characters were supposed to be seen drinking beer. Sethi faced challenges opening the bottle with his mouth, struggling to get the timing right.
As the sun began to set and time was running out, Khan stepped in to help. He patiently explained the technique for opening the bottle, ensuring Sethi could deliver a better performance and complete the scene efficiently.
Sethi praised Khan, describing him as a calm actor who gives his co-stars the opportunity to shine. He noted that Khan is always willing to take another take if needed, demonstrating his commitment to collaborative filmmaking.
Their friendship predates the film, as Sethi had met Khan while attending a Morani Brothers world tour with his wife, actress Archana Puran Singh. This connection laid the groundwork for their bond during the DDLJ shoot.
In the film, Sethi’s character Kuljeet is the suitor favored by Simran’s father, Baldev Singh, leading to memorable confrontations with Raj. DDLJ remains a significant highlight in Paremeet Sethi’s career.
