Rohit Shetty Shooting Case: Accused Golu Pandit Uncooperative in Police Interrogation

Mumbai, March 24: The investigation into the shocking shooting incident at filmmaker Rohit Shetty’s residence is intensifying. The accused, Pradeep Sharma, also known as Golu Pandit, is currently being interrogated by the Mumbai Crime Branch. However, police officials report that he is not cooperating with the investigation.

During questioning, Golu Pandit admitted to being associated with the Bishnoi gang about two years ago and maintained contact with them. He clarified that he was not in direct communication with Lawrence Bishnoi but was connected through a third party, who is now being actively sought by the police. Golu Pandit was arrested in Agra, Uttar Pradesh, and is currently in Crime Branch custody. According to police, his primary role was to recruit young men for the gang, who were lured into criminal activities for financial gain.

The investigation revealed that the main shooter, Deepak Sharma, was promised ₹300,000 for the attack, with Golu Pandit facilitating this arrangement. Both Deepak and Golu are from the outskirts of Agra and were previously acquainted. They lacked stable employment and became involved in this conspiracy due to financial hardships. To resolve this case, the Mumbai Crime Branch conducted operations in Agra for about eight days, analyzing approximately 1,600 mobile numbers, many of which were found to be recently active.

Police tracked suspicious activities through mobile tower locations, call detail records (CDR), and network analysis. During this process, a crucial mobile number emerged, playing a decisive role in unraveling the case and leading police to Golu Pandit.

The investigation has also uncovered the involvement of an individual named Arzu Bishnoi, prompting police to expedite inquiries from this angle. Authorities suspect that an organized criminal network may be behind the entire incident. A shocking revelation during the investigation indicated that the accused learned the shooting technique by watching videos on YouTube, after which they orchestrated the plot and executed the shooting at Rohit Shetty’s home.

Additionally, police findings suggest that Golu Pandit had prior connections with the Bishnoi gang and had previously been jailed for his involvement in a shooting incident in Rajasthan. This raises further suspicions that a larger organized gang is at play. The Mumbai Crime Branch continues its thorough investigation and is actively conducting raids to apprehend the fleeing suspects.
