Rising Temperatures Expected in Tamil Nadu with Light Rain in Western Ghats

Chennai, March 28: Tamil Nadu is experiencing a shift towards warmer weather. According to the latest forecast from the India Meteorological Department (IMD), light to moderate rain is expected in some areas of the Western Ghats on Saturday, while the rest of the state will remain predominantly dry.

The weather department indicates that light or moderate rain may occur in one or two places in districts connected to the Western Ghats. However, this rainfall is expected to be localized and will not significantly impact the overall weather in the state. Other parts of Tamil Nadu, along with Puducherry and Karaikal, will see skies ranging from clear to partly cloudy, with negligible chances of rain.

The IMD has also issued a warning that temperatures in Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, and Karaikal will gradually rise in the coming days. Daytime temperatures could increase by 2 to 3 degrees Celsius in several areas, intensifying the heat. This change aligns with the typical weather trends as the state approaches the peak of summer.

In the capital city of Chennai, the sky may remain partly cloudy throughout the day. The maximum temperature is expected to hover around 34 to 35 degrees Celsius, while the minimum will range between 24 and 25 degrees Celsius. Although there is no forecast for rain, humidity may make the heat feel more intense.

Weather experts have advised residents, particularly in the interior districts, to remain vigilant. They recommend avoiding direct sunlight, staying hydrated, and limiting outdoor activities during the afternoon. Wearing light and comfortable clothing is also advised.

While the light rain in some areas of the Western Ghats may provide slight relief to local residents, widespread rainfall across the state is not anticipated at this time.
