Rising Stars of Womens Golf Gear Up for WPGT Stage Six

Noida, March 17: Ridhima Dilawari, Tvesa Malik, and Jasmin Shekhar, who have collectively won four out of five tournaments in the Women’s Professional Golf Tour (WPGT) 2026 season, are set to lead a large field of 53 players in the sixth stage of the competition. The prize pool for this tournament is ₹1.7 million. Jasmin secured victory in the first stage, while Ridhima claimed wins in the second and fourth stages. Tvesa won the title in the third stage.

The event, taking place at the Jaypee Wish Town Golf Course, will also feature several strong contenders, including former Indian Open runner-up Amandeep Drall, Anvita Narendran, Sahar Atwal, Neha Tripathi, Heena Kang, Janhvi Bakshi, Vidhatri Urs, and Sanvi Somu.

This event will see participation from seven amateur players, which is significant as they have consistently performed well in recent years. The fifth stage was won by amateur player Lavanya Gupta, who will not be competing this week. However, reigning champion Mahreen Bhatia, who won the last stage of the 2025 season at this venue, will participate.

Other notable amateur players to watch include Seerat Kang, Shambhavi Chaturvedi, Anuradha Chaudhary, Aradhana Manikandan, Alisha Datt, and the talented Guntas Kaur Sandhu.

Currently, Ridhima Dilawari leads the ‘Order of Merit’ rankings, closely followed by Jasmin Shekhar and Sneha Singh, who is not competing this week.

Previously, Tvesa Malik ended a two-year winless streak by defeating Anvita Narendran in a playoff at the third stage of the Women’s Professional Golf Tour held at Oxford Golf Resort. Her last victory was in September 2023 at DLF Gurugram.

Tvesa started the final day one shot behind Anvita but leveled the score on the fourth hole, where she made a bogey while Anvita made a double bogey. Anvita lost further shots on the sixth and eighth holes but made a comeback with a birdie on the ninth.

Sanvi Somu led a strong list of new professional players in the 2026 calendar year. Ten new professionals secured their spots through qualifiers held at Jaypee Wish Town, while four players came from the IGU Ladies OOM and WAGR. The Women’s Golf Association of India (WGAI) now boasts a record 62 registered professional players, including 14 new professionals this year.
