Congress MLA Gokul Setia to Protest Outside Party Office in Chandigarh on March 18

Sirsa, March 18: Haryana Congress MLA Gokul Setia will stage a protest outside the party office in Chandigarh on March 18. This demonstration is linked to the cross-voting that occurred during the Rajya Sabha elections and the cancellation of votes from Congress legislators. Setia shared this information through a video on social media.

He announced that the protest would begin at 10 AM at the party office gate located in Sector 9.

In his video, Setia urged the Congress party to disclose the names of the legislators who allegedly harmed the party during the Rajya Sabha elections. He mentioned that there are several false news reports circulating, including claims that his own vote was canceled. He believes the party should clarify these matters.

Setia acknowledged his good personal relations with Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini and Union Minister Manohar Lal Khattar but emphasized that these connections are being misinterpreted. He stated that some votes during the Rajya Sabha elections went to an independent candidate, while others were annulled, yet the party has not provided clear information. He called for transparency regarding the names of the legislators whose votes were canceled to eliminate confusion.

He also remarked that political and social relationships are distinct. Meeting with a leader does not imply betrayal of one’s party. According to him, “Politics has become such that suspicion falls on everyone.”

Finally, he asserted that if any legislator has indeed engaged in cross-voting, they should be expelled from the party.
