Rishi Panchami: A Day for Worship and Reflection on September 15, 2026

New Delhi, September 14 (Daily Kiran) : September 15, 2026, marks Rishi Panchami, a significant day in Hindu tradition dedicated to the worship of the seven sages, or Saptarishis. This day falls on the fourth day of the Shukla Paksha in the month of Bhadrapada, continuing until 7:44 AM. Following this, the Panchami Tithi will commence.

Devotees observe this day primarily for self-purification and to express gratitude towards the sages. Women, in particular, partake in this fast to seek liberation from any inadvertent impurities or faults.

On this day, the sun will rise at 6:17 AM and set at 6:27 PM. The moon will rise at 9:55 AM and set at 9:01 PM. According to the Panchang, the sun will be positioned in the Uttara Phalguni Nakshatra.

Additionally, the day will witness the Aindra Yoga until 12:18 PM, after which the Vaidhriti Yoga will take over. The Abhijit Muhurat, considered the most auspicious time, will occur from 11:57 AM to 12:46 PM. The Amrit Kaal will be observed from 6:00 AM to 7:41 AM.

Caution is advised during the Rahu Kaal, which will take place from 3:24 PM to 4:55 PM, and during the Gulik Kaal from 12:22 PM to 1:53 PM. The Yamgand Kaal will be from 9:19 AM to 10:50 AM. Traditional beliefs suggest avoiding the initiation of new endeavors during these periods, as they are deemed inauspicious.

On Rishi Panchami, the sun will be in the Leo zodiac sign, while the moon will be in Libra. It is also noted that there will be a directional obstacle (Disha Shool) in the north, which is advised against for travel. If travel is unavoidable, specific astrological remedies should be considered before departure.
