Kotdwar, September 15 (Daily Kiran) : Nestled in the Garhwal region of Uttarakhand, Siddhbali Dham is renowned for its spiritual energy and natural beauty. This sacred site is dedicated to Lord Hanuman, who is worshipped here in the form of a pindi. The temple attracts millions of devotees seeking peace and a profound spiritual experience.
On Tuesday, Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami shared a video of the temple on the social media platform X. He highlighted Siddhbali Dham as a sacred center of devotion and divine grace. “Located in Kotdwar, Pauri Garhwal district, this temple offers spiritual tranquility and positive energy amidst stunning natural beauty. If you visit Pauri Garhwal, you must experience the blessings of this holy site,” he wrote.
Local beliefs suggest that a revered sage once meditated at this location, where he was blessed with a vision of Hanuman. Following this, the idol of Bajrangbali was established, leading to the name ‘Siddhbali.’ Another popular tale recounts how Guru Gorakhnath encountered Hanuman, who disguised himself to block the guru’s path. Their ensuing battle was inconclusive until Hanuman revealed his true form and granted a wish. Guru Gorakhnath prayed for Hanuman to remain present at this site forever.
This location is believed to be where Guru Gorakhnath attained spiritual enlightenment and witnessed Hanuman. For these reasons, it has come to be known as Siddhbali. Local lore suggests that the temple is approximately 400 years old, although there are no historical records to confirm its exact age.
