RGHA Girls Team Clinches Bholath Hockey Cup with 5-1 Victory Over GNDU

Jalandhar, March 24: The Roundglass Hockey Academy (RGHA) girls’ team triumphed over Guru Nanak Dev University (GNDU) Amritsar with a commanding 5-1 victory. This win secured them the Bholath Hockey Cup 2026 (Women) title. The match took place on Sunday at the Olympian Surjit Hockey Stadium in Jalandhar.

Under the leadership of captain Baljeet Kaur, the academy’s players dominated from the start. RGHA took an early lead of 1-0 in the first quarter and doubled their advantage just before halftime. A flurry of three goals in the third quarter effectively sealed their championship victory, showcasing their offensive prowess and cohesive team play. Although GNDU managed to score a consolation goal in the final quarter, Roundglass maintained full control of the match, finishing with a 5-1 win.

In the semifinals held on Saturday, RGHA faced a strong challenge from BSF Jalandhar, winning decisively 3-1. The team established a 2-0 lead within the first 15 minutes by converting two penalty corners and secured the match with an excellent field goal in the 50th minute.

This championship win at the Bholath Hockey Cup adds to the academy’s string of impressive performances this year. It highlights the growing physical and strategic maturity of young players and reflects the success of Roundglass’s well-planned grassroots talent development program in Punjab.
