Farrukhabad, March 25: A startling incident emerged from Farrukhabad, Uttar Pradesh, where a family land dispute escalated into a physical altercation between cousins. Unscrupulous individuals attempted to manipulate the situation, misleading the victim’s side with exaggerated claims that went viral on social media.
The incident occurred in the Jahanganj police jurisdiction, where two parties clashed over a property dispute. A thorough investigation by the local area officer revealed the truth behind the allegations, prompting immediate police action.
Additional Superintendent of Police Arun Kumar Singh stated that claims of a girl leaving school due to fear of criminals were found to be entirely false. Reports circulated online suggested that a girl had stopped attending school due to harassment, but upon investigation, these allegations were debunked.
On March 22, Sita Devi, the wife of Shivshankar from Danmandi, Jahanganj, reported to the police that her husband had assaulted her. She later visited the police station to formally report the incident, leading to immediate medical examinations for those involved.
On the same day, action was taken against the other party’s Om Prakash under section 170 BNS, followed by similar actions against two other accused, Satish and Uma Shankar, on March 24. The ASP clarified that all four individuals are related, being uncle and nephews, and the dispute is rooted in a property issue among Shivshankar’s six brothers.
The allegations of harassment were later directed at the uncle and cousins, proving to be completely unfounded. The conflict was merely a case of mutual physical altercation among relatives.
