Renowned Actor Bharat Kapoor Passes Away at 80

Mumbai, April 27: Veteran Bollywood actor Bharat Kapoor passed away on Monday at the age of 80.

While the exact cause of his death has not been officially confirmed, reports indicate that he had been unwell for the past four days.

According to sources, he was admitted to Sion Hospital in Mumbai. The family and close relatives are currently awaiting an official statement.

Film producer Ashok Pandit confirmed the tragic news on social media. He shared a photo of the late actor on his Instagram stories, expressing his sorrow, stating, “I am deeply saddened to hear about the passing of this legendary stage and film actor.”

Pandit reminisced, “I have wonderful memories of working with Bharat Kapoor in the early days of my career. A great person. Om Shanti.”

Bharat Kapoor was a well-known name in the Hindi entertainment industry, frequently appearing in television and films throughout the 1970s, 80s, and 90s.

During his nearly four-decade-long career, he was part of several notable projects, including ‘Noori’ (1979), ‘Ram Balram’ (1980), ‘Love Story’ (1981), ‘Bazaar’ (1982), ‘Ghulami’ (1985), ‘Aakhri Rasta’ (1986), ‘Satyamev Jayate’ (1987), ‘Swarg’ (1990), ‘Khuda Gawah’ (1992), and ‘Rang’ (1993).

His filmography also includes ‘Barsaat’ (1995), ‘Sajan Chale Sasural’ (1996), and ‘Meenakshi: A Tale of Three Cities’ (2004).

In addition, Bharat Kapoor appeared in various television shows such as ‘Campus’, ‘Parampara’, ‘Rahat’, ‘Sans’, ‘Amanat’, ‘Bhagya Vidhata’, ‘Tara’, ‘Chunauti’, and ‘Kahani Chandrakanta Ki’.

He carved a unique identity in the film industry by portraying a wide range of roles across different genres. He played antagonists, supporting characters, and impactful personalities in numerous films.
