RCB Wins Toss Against MI, Opts to Bowl First in IPL 2026 Clash

Mumbai, May 10: In the 54th match of IPL 2026, Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) is set to face off against Mumbai Indians (MI) at the Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh International Stadium. RCB captain Rajat Patidar won the toss and chose to bowl first.

RCB has made no changes to their playing eleven for this match. After winning the toss, Patidar stated, “We will bowl first. The pitch is good and hard. We aim to restrict them to a low score and chase it down. Honestly, the conditions are not new to us. We are sticking with the same team. Yes, we have faced some losses, but we want to focus on ourselves rather than the opposition.”

Mumbai Indians also retained their playing eleven. Hardik Pandya remains unavailable for this match. After losing the toss, captain Suryakumar Yadav expressed confidence, saying, “We are quite confident about batting first. A big ground, a black soil wicket, and having runs on the board always puts pressure on the opposing team. We are playing with the same team. We have always had good discussions regarding our bowling. It can be tough for the bowlers. We strive to improve every day.”

So far this season, RCB has played a total of 10 matches, winning 6 and losing 4. Virat Kohli and Devdutt Padikkal have been consistently performing well with the bat. Tim David has excelled in the finisher role. In bowling, the duo of Josh Hazlewood and Bhuvneshwar Kumar has been effective, although SuYash Sharma’s poor form remains a concern for the team.

On the other hand, Mumbai Indians have struggled in IPL 2026, securing only 3 wins out of 10 matches while losing 7. In their last match against Lucknow Super Giants, Rohit Sharma and Ryan Rickelton showcased a strong opening partnership, with Rohit scoring 84 and Rickelton 83 runs. However, Suryakumar Yadav has been struggling for runs. Jasprit Bumrah has also been off form, which has clearly impacted MI’s performance. Deepak Chahar and Allah Gajanfar have also failed to make a significant impact.

RCB’s Playing Eleven: Virat Kohli, Jacob Bethel, Rajat Patidar (captain), Jitesh Sharma (wicketkeeper), Tim David, Romario Shepherd, Krunal Pandya, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Josh Hazlewood, SuYash Sharma, and Rasikh Salam Dar.

MI’s Playing Eleven: Rohit Sharma, Ryan Rickelton (wicketkeeper), Naman Dheer, Suryakumar Yadav (captain), Tilak Varma, Will Jacks, Raj Bawa, Corbin Bosch, Deepak Chahar, Jasprit Bumrah, and Allah Gajanfar.
