New Delhi, April 18: Afghanistan’s star spinner Rashid Khan has become a father. He shared the joyous news through a post on his Instagram account. Rashid has named his son ‘Azlaan’. Currently, he is playing for Gujarat Titans (GT) in IPL 2026.
Expressing his happiness, Rashid wrote on Instagram, “Alhamdulillah. Welcome to the world, my little prince.” He requested his fans to pray for his family. Congratulations poured in from fellow cricketers and others in the cricket community shortly after his announcement. Rashid had tied the knot for the second time last year, which he also shared on social media.
Despite his personal joy, Rashid has not yet made a significant impact in IPL 2026. In the five matches he has played, he has taken six wickets. In his last match against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), he struggled, conceding 44 runs and taking just one wicket in four overs.
Nevertheless, Gujarat Titans managed to secure a victory against KKR. Batting first, KKR was all out for 180 runs in 20 overs. Cameron Green stood out for KKR, scoring a solid 79 runs off 55 balls. For GT, Kagiso Rabada excelled with the ball, taking three wickets for 29 runs, while Siraj and Ashok Sharma claimed two wickets each.
Gujarat Titans successfully chased down the target of 181 runs with two balls to spare. Shubman Gill was the star for GT, scoring 86 runs, including eight fours and four sixes. Jos Buttler also contributed with 25 runs off 15 balls. So far, Gujarat Titans have played five matches this season, winning three and losing two.
