Ayodhya, July 11: Nrupendra Mishra, the chairman of the Ram Temple Construction Committee, described the recent donation-related incident at the Ram Temple as “extremely painful” for the entire temple community. He assured that necessary reforms would be implemented to prevent such occurrences in the future. Mishra also provided updates on the progress of the temple construction and remaining tasks.
Speaking to reporters, Mishra mentioned that he had discussed the matter with Swami Govind Dev Giri, the treasurer of the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust. He stated that the incident is a stain on the temple’s reputation, evoking feelings of sorrow and inadequacy among all involved. “This is entirely a matter of the system. Reforms will be made, and I am confident that such an incident will not happen again,” he asserted.
Mishra revealed that he reviewed the temple construction work just a day prior. According to him, two major tasks remain. The first involves the restoration of the old temple and associated monuments, where arrangements for a continuously burning eternal flame are to be made. Most of the temple construction is already complete. The second significant task is related to the monument, which is targeted for completion by the end of July. He emphasized that the temple construction has now entered its final phase.
He stated that all major construction work on the Ram Temple would be completed by July 30. After that, only two major tasks will continue. The first is the construction of a boundary wall, approximately four kilometers long, which is expected to be finished by September 30. Mishra personally inspected the construction site and expressed confidence that the work would be completed within the set timeframe.
Mishra also mentioned that the auditorium being built outside the temple complex is expected to be completed by November-December. The storyline for the Ram Katha Museum has been finalized, and decisions regarding the integration of modern technology and video presentations will be made during meetings scheduled for Saturday and Sunday.
Regarding the increasing number of devotees, Mishra stated, “This temple of Ram Lalla is unique in the world. All temples are centers of faith and devotion, but this temple has been established at a site where Lord Ram resides, following a long movement. Therefore, the number of devotees visiting will never decrease. I firmly believe that every follower of Sanatan Dharma will visit here at least once in their lifetime.”
He noted that representatives from L&T, TCE, the State Construction Corporation, Engineers India Limited, and other relevant agencies participate in the construction committee meetings. Additionally, a high-level committee chaired by a judge has been formed to address any disputes or significant issues. This committee submits its recommendations and decisions to the trust, which then makes the final call.
