Rajbhar Welcomes High Court Verdict on Panchayat Elections, Takes a Jibe at Akhileshs PDA

Om Prakash Rajbhar praises the High Courts decision on Uttar Pradeshs Panchayat elections, while criticizing Akhilesh Yadavs political strategy.

Lucknow, October 16 (Daily Kiran) : Om Prakash Rajbhar, a cabinet minister and president of the Suheldev Bharatiya Samaj Party (SBSP), welcomed the Allahabad High Court’s recent ruling regarding the upcoming Panchayat elections in Uttar Pradesh. He emphasized that the court has mandated the elections to be held within three months. The decision on the elections will be made after completing the reservation process based on the report from the Backward Classes Commission.

During a press conference, Rajbhar also took a swipe at the Samajwadi Party’s president, Akhilesh Yadav, regarding his PDA (Backward, Dalit, Minority) slogan. He noted that the voter list for the Panchayat elections is ready, and they are now awaiting the Commission’s report. Once the report is available, they will finalize preparations for the elections and the reservation process.

He highlighted that clarity on the reservation for backward classes will only come after the Commission’s report is submitted. The court’s ruling also includes a one-month timeline for completing the reservation process. Rajbhar’s comments targeted the political strategy of the Samajwadi Party, particularly mocking Akhilesh Yadav’s PDA slogan by stating, “In PDA, the ‘D’ stands for Dhanniram.” This remark is perceived as a political attack on the Samajwadi Party’s formula.

In a show of strength, several officials and activists from various political parties and social organizations joined the SBSP during Rajbhar’s press conference. Notably, around 40 individuals, led by Mohammad Murshid Khan from the Samajwadi Party, switched allegiance to the SBSP. Additionally, Chandrakant Awasthi, the district president of the Vishwa Hindu Raksha Parishad, also joined the party. The influx of new members from regions such as Gonda, Barabanki, Varanasi, Unnao, and Lucknow is seen as a strategic effort to expand the SBSP’s organizational base.
