UP Minister Responds to Allegations of Delayed Panchayat Elections
UP Minister Om Prakash Rajbhar addresses claims of delayed panchayat elections and comments on opposition fears ahead of 2027.

Lucknow, October 16 (Daily Kiran) : Om Prakash Rajbhar, the Panchayati Raj Minister of Uttar Pradesh, has responded to allegations regarding delays in the panchayat elections and comments made by Defense Minister Rajnath Singh about the opposition. Speaking in Lucknow, Rajbhar clarified the timeline for the elections, stating that the formation of the OBC Commission was initiated following a directive from the High Court. He emphasized that elections would be conducted only after the commission’s report and the completion of the reservation system.
Addressing accusations from the Samajwadi Party (SP), Rajbhar remarked, “The opposition is scared about what will happen in 2027. We also ask them, what will happen to you?”
In response to Rajnath Singh’s claims against the opposition, Rajbhar supported Singh’s statements, suggesting that the opposition is involved in fraudulent practices, including voting irregularities. He noted that since Gyanesh Kumar took office as Chief Election Commissioner a year ago, there have been allegations about vote theft in elections in Delhi, Maharashtra, and Madhya Pradesh.
Rajbhar highlighted that Gyanesh Kumar has made significant changes, such as removing deceased individuals from the voter list and consolidating duplicate entries. He pointed out that the opposition seems worried since they previously benefited from votes cast by deceased individuals whose names remained on the list.
“Children in India are knowledgeable. They stand with the nation on issues of nationalism. Rajnath Singh is correct; neither the SP nor Congress will win the elections. Both parties complement each other, which is why they are working together,” Rajbhar concluded.
